| Where: | Situated just five miles south of Tunbridge Wells in Kent, Crowborough is just in East Sussex on the edge of the Ashdown Forest. | |
| Why Visit: | Not on the tourist trail, Crowborough is a friendly market town surrounded by countryside designated as land of outstanding natural beauty. Crowborough's most famous resident was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries. Its neighbour, the nearby village of Rotherfield is extremely pretty and worth a wander to peruse its antique shops and stop for a pint one of its lovely pubs. | |
| Places of Interest: | We recommend the Ashdown Forest, stomping ground of AA Milne's Winne the Pooh. We also recommend the spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells just five miles to the north of Crowborough. | |
